Preston High School is located in the Throggs Neck neighborhood of the Bronx. Whether traveling by car, bus, or train, our campus is accessible from multiple points across New York City, Westchester, Long Island, and New Jersey. Please use the directions below to plan your visit.
By Car
Directions are available from Long Island, Manhattan, Westchester, and New Jersey. Please follow posted signs carefully and note that you should not cross the Throgs Neck Bridge if approaching from the Bronx or Westchester — remain on the expressway and follow the “Off Expressway” directions.
- From Long Island via Throgs Neck Bridge: Exit immediately after tolls, follow Pennyfield Ave. to Harding Ave. and E. Tremont Ave., then turn onto Schurz Ave. and proceed four blocks to Preston.
- From Manhattan via RFK Bridge: Take the Bruckner Expressway to Cross Bronx Expressway East. Follow signs to Throgs Neck Bridge, then follow “Off Expressway” directions.
- From Westchester via I‑95 South: Take Exit 8 Harding Ave. before the bridge. Do not cross the bridge. Follow Harding Ave. to E. Tremont Ave., then turn onto Schurz Ave. and proceed four blocks to Preston.
- From New Jersey via George Washington Bridge: Take Cross Bronx Expressway East to I‑295. Follow signs to Throgs Neck Bridge, then follow “Off Expressway” directions.
By MTA Bus
- BX42: Runs via Westchester Square and East Tremont Ave. Morning drop‑off at Brinsmade & Harding Aves., afternoon pickup at Preston’s main entrance.
- BX40: Connects at Westchester Square with BX42.
- From Queens: Q44 to Westchester Square, transfer to BX42. QBX also connects via Bruckner Blvd. and E. Tremont Ave.
- Throgs Neck Express Bus (MBx9): From Manhattan, departs Madison Ave. and 23rd St. with multiple stops uptown. Drop‑off at Harding Ave. and E. Tremont Ave., then walk one block to Schurz Ave. and four blocks to Preston.
By MTA Train
- #6 Train: To Pelham Bay, transfer at Westchester Square to BX42 bus.
- #4 Train: To Burnside Ave., transfer to BX42 bus.
- #2 or #5 Train: To West Farms Square and E. Tremont Ave., transfer to BX42 bus.
