Mrs. Grendell grew up in Cleveland, OH, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English from John Carroll University. She lived and worked in Boston, MA, earning her master’s degree in Reading Education at the Secondary Level from Boston University, and in San Francisco, CA, where she taught in a Catholic elementary school/middle school before moving to NY. She has also taken additional coursework in School Building Leadership.
Mrs. Grendell began teaching at Preston in 1995. She has taught courses in British and American Literature at the Regents and Honors level, as well as English 1 & Study Skills, English 4 (Film History and Stage to Screen) and AP English Literature. She also served as English Department Chair and Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Teaching. She was appointed Principal in 2008.
