Academic Support
Preston is justifiably proud of its excellent academic reputation. We are also proud of our academic support network which enables our students to successfully navigate our curriculum Our academic support network include one-on-one and small group tutorials, as well as online tutorials in some subjects. Both the Math Department and Science Department faculty offer extra help after school on most days. The English Department provides one-on-one assistance to students needing help with their writing assignments from any course through the after-school Writing Center. Most departments provide after-school prep sessions, if needed, prior to administration of Regents exams. Additional academic help is available from peer tutors from the Junior Ambassadors program and the National Honor Society. Our study blocks on B-type days also provide opportunities for students to seek study help from their teachers or classmates by working in pairs or small groups.
